Took my youngest daughter (13) to the farm in Grayson County. Heard one gobbling at daybreak. Everything was quiet until he gobbled just the other side of the pasture out of sight. He then started to cross to the other set of woods on a neighbors property. Hit the boxcall very lightly and he instantly stopped and started strutting. Hit it again very short and soft. Turkey came running to us and she dropped him with her 20 gauge at about 30 feet when he paused. 11" Beard, 1 1/4" spurs and weighs in neighborhood of 26-27 pounds. Tail is with Clearwater in Louisville for her reminder of the trip.
