Yeah, I know. You wouldn't buy one and I wouldn't buy one either. But my son bought a used one and gave it to me a couple years ago for a gift. So I use it occasionally. Last week ago my wife bought some frozen meat up near Louisville and filled the cooler with ice. OK. I thought I would see how long it took to melt. Today was 9 days later and it still had some ice floating in it . You gotta admit, thats pretty impressive.
Yes it is, but an RTIC (or one of the others) will do the same, and at half the price (although, yours was free, so that is an awesome price). I took mine (RTIC) on a summer hog hunt and it kept dead pig cold for 4 days with only the ice I brought. Then I came home and ran another test, filled to the top with ice and set it on the porch in the North Carolina summer sun and opened it once daily. It had ice in it till day 8. I was impressed.
I got an RTIC cooler through work and it will keep drinks cold for a week. It’s a bit heavy to carry, but makes for a good seat in a pinch.
I’ve got several rtic coolers and the guys I hunt and rzr ride with mostly all have yeti’s. My conclusion is this, if we’re hunting and trying to keep meat until we get back home my rtic does just as well as the yetis. If we’re drinking beer and in and out of a cooler 50 times throughout the day it doesn’t matter if you have a yeti or a $20 Walmart special your ice will melt.
Avoid the treeline brand coolers at tractor supply, total junk I'm telling you what Walmart is coming out with some pretty good stuff if I wanted to buy a fancy cooler I would get one there
Could care less if it lasted 12 months!! They are dead to me!! Losers! Same with Dicks and their spin off outdoor store!! Can never remember the name and theres a reason for that...lol!
Not going to lie, I’ve got a few yetis. I put 2 bags of ice in my 75 Monday, it’s been ridding in the boat down here in central Florida, just had to put more ice in today. Love or hate the company they make a good product
From now on, Yeti coolers around my house will be as hard to find as the original Yeti is in the Himalayas.
