I love to cast sinkers. Its something great to do In the winter plus it saves me a lot of money on sinkers..If you catfish in creeks/rivers/snags you know how many sinkers you go through..Not to mention most places don't carry 2-6oz bank/egg sinkers..Ive invested in a 10lb LEE electric pot and picked up two "Do-It" brand molds. I cant say enough about the Do-it brand molds they are top notch! Any of you guys like to roll your own?

If you don't mind, what's that mold cost? I do spend a ton on lead. Pun intended.

Ive picked them up on ebay as cheap as $15 plus shipping but new good do-it molds are about $35..I get my lead free at tire places in the form of wheel weights..You can use a old cast iron skllet or better a pot to melt lead in over an open flame(outside and you will need a ladle) instead of buying an electric pot but they are very convenient. I poured a bunch of sinkers and took them to a UTK meet once and paid for my gas selling the sinkers I cast..

I make my own sinkers and jigs too. Very little clean up work on them and a great product.

I make my own shakey heads, spinnerbaits , jigs, bama rigs, silver buddys, etc. Usually use tungsten for flipping and punching weights so i buy those. We powder coat all of our lead casts in a powder bed which is much easier and lasts longer.

I go through alot of heavy swim bait heads. How hard is it to mold your own? I have a design in mind I want that's like the gulp style head.
