"Bella" the Lab took umbrage at a stray cat sitting on the window ledge looking in. She almost made it through the window... I took the remains of the screen, added a piece of scrap plywood to the frame as a spline to hold it together. A little bit of fiberglass screen, a spline tool and a few minute of my spare time and "viola". Almost as good as new. Or, good enough to switch with a good screen from the back bedroom...I hate cats...

Welllll...Barnacles!!! Bella went through another screen trying to get a cat. I think she got the message this time. At least by the "I'm sorry. I'll never do *THAT* again. Please play fetch with me" look she gives me.
And I have a tom cat to trap...

Too funny... I could have written your post too. Here's the short version of my story- Yellow Lab, I work from home, neighbors like to let their cats roam. The cats stalk by my office window trying to get birds under my daughter's bird feeder causing him to lose his mind, usually quicker than I can mute my phone while on conference calls. My son's paintball gun solves the problem for a week or two, then we repeat the process. It's hilarious, the lab will quit freaking out as soon as I pick up the gun and sit quietly growling at the window as I slowly slide it open. Totally focused, chest out, ears forward- he's waiting to retrieve Mr. Fluffy. I really should get out more.....
