it isn't cheap...much cheaper to buy one already dipped. I'd like to get my 870 done but may as well buy a new one

I would have Tarjac.com do any dipping that i was going to have done. They have all the patterns you would ever need or want. They just are not in KY.

I've been thinking about buying a kit. After some research I found it is somewhat easy. But if you can get it done under $100,then all for it!
That's what a kit costs.

Depends on how well you want it to both look and hold up. The best systems work just like painting a car, but with the application of the ink pattern in the process before the clear(low gloss/flat or gloss). Prep work is key to a good job and durability.

I have been hunting with a solid black shotgun ever since I started turkey hunting and have never had a problem with it. Never had a dead bird complain yet.

I have done several myself. It is very easy. Look at the hydrographic kits. Cost is around $85 and you can do a complete shotgun, Rifle and still have a few left over. All you need it a dip tank, I used a Plastic storage tub from walmart and took my shotgun apart. Whole process took 1 hour to do and I let dry for 24 hours.

Got any pics? I'd love to see what a home dip job looks like.
