Penn Country Hams won the grand champion ham at the state fair this year, but Broadbent has won it several times in the past.

Penn’s Hams in Campbellsville is the best I’ve had. I would like to try Broadbent.

I need to order a ham relatively soon. I rectal I’ll flip a quarter between Penn and Broadbent.

Country ham buyers might want to take a look at Col. Bill Newsom's Hams in Princeton. They have been winning awards of various kinds for years. I know they supply hams to some big time chefs in NYC and other places. They ship them about anywhere. Google will help you find them.

I get 2 hams every year!!! My daughter cures them in 4H every year. One salt cured, and one sugar cured. One is taken to the state fair, and one is judged at our Country Ham Days!!!

I just saw five Harper ham's at Save-a - lot . Could be old stock hams, but looked new to me.

  8. Looks like Harper’s is contracting its business out.

And it looks like they don't use curing salt and the temps he talks about hanging at seems like you could hang one in your basement.

Annual Christmas day country ham pic.
Clifty Farm from Save a lot. Seemed to be a younger ham, no mold what so ever, and it was pretty soft. Juice ran everywhere when I started slicing it, and the flavor was a little on the milder side but absolutely delicious!

  14. My dad considered a Clifty Farm ham from Save a lot to be the standard bearer of store bought country ham lol. I grew up on them in the winter.
