I use to buy fishing gear there all the time when i was a kid.. I have a CVA kentucky rifle that was bought at that very store
My first rifle I purchased on my own was a Remington Model 700 ADL in .222 Remington. Bought it in 1965.
First gun was a 20ga stevens single shot, me and my brother both bought one. They were the same gun just had different finishing in the wood. We would squirrel hunt every day we could get in the woods back then.
First owned was a Marlin model 25 Glenfield .22 bolt action, a gift from Dad on my 11th birthday, he bought it used, think he later told me he paid $75 for it. First I purchased was a Taurus 92 9mm, blued, paid $279 at the original Buds Gun shop on Industry Rd in Lexington on the other side of the street from where they are now. That was when Bud Wells actually worked there and if you came in fairly regularly, he would call you by name. It was a lot more fun going in there back then, and he had much better deals.... Still have them both.
First gun ever was a 12 gauge Charles Daly, killed my first ever animal(a jake) with it, and sold it the following year to upgrade.
I bought a Marlin model 60 when I was 14. Met the old guy in a neighborhood saloon to conduct the deal. Things have changed a *LOT*...
Old single shot .410. My barber had let me use it growing up, when I got older I gave it back. Walked in his shop one day, he had it in there for sale. I bought it right then.
