Winchester 94 I was 7 years old, hardware store in town sold guns “1978” the owner asked my parents permission and let me put $10 on it and did a lay away deal, I mowed yards, chopped out tobacco and anything I could for a dime that year till I paid it off! Still one of my most cherished rifles
Marlin Golden 39A, bought it when I was 16 at the old Maloney's in Prestonsburg where the old Lake Bowling Lanes used to be. I think it was 79.00
Winchester 12 gauge. Bought it at Mr. Wiggs in Lexington. I was 17 and my dad filled out the paper work for me.
First I ever got was a either a Remington 870 youth or a marlin semi auto .22 that my grandpa gave me. Can’t remember which came first. First i ever bought was a Full-size M&P 9
Marlin 22mag Remington 870 wingmaster mod. 28inch Remington 7600 30-06 dont remember the order i bought these before i got married , I wish i had these back .
Remington 870 12 ga. 2 3/4 inch. added a slug barrel. I was 16 years old. I think only paid a couple hundred dollars if I remember. Would have been 1970??? something.
I inherited a Glennfield Mod 25 .22 bolt action and had a Mossberg bolt .410 that I received for Christmas at 12 or 13. First gun I bought was an H&R "Topper" mod 88 in 12 gauge at age 14. Cost me $48 at K Mart. Weighs about 4-5 lbs and has a stout jab when you drop the hammer on it! I forgot about it for years after getting a Mossberg 500 at age 19 then with age comes nostalgia and I still hunt with all the guns mentioned except the .410 which I traded in on a Browning A Bolt .
Remember when we could just walk into a western auto or local hardware store and just say I want that one. Hand some cash over and walk out. Good ole days
New Browning BPS in 1984. My first three guns were gifts from my parents. I still use the hell out of that BPS. It's killed everything for me, except deer.
when I was kid me and my cousin would go to the store down the road and buy 6 shot gun shells at a time to go rabbit hunting instead of the whole box.
First gun was a 1972 Golden Daisy bought at Flemingsburg Western Auto in 1973 I was 3.5 years of age. My first grandchild was born in 2013 I paid $85 to have that bb gun rebuilt for her. First adult gun was Christmas present in 1979 brand new Remington 1100 12 gauge. I was 10 years old , man I can see it now. It was given to me 2 days before dove season was to open in September. First Purchase 1980 winter , I housed and stripped backker for my uncle. The day he sold backker in Maysville we stopped at Heck's for a Marlin model 60 (with squirrel engraving) $88.88
Ruger 10 22 international stainless. I thought it was the most beautiful gun ever. I was 19 I think I had to hawk it to pay some Debt then missed payment day by one day. Pawn shop man said well you lose the owner really wanted that gun anyway. I would give half of my left nut to find another
Many many years ago was a store in town called Stokelys army surplus. In the store they had old wooden barrels jammed full of old used army rifles from ten to twenty dollars each. I picked out a Mauser-98 bolt action in 30-06 cal. I gave 15 bucks for it. It was a pretty good shooting gun well as I remember.
