The only time I hunt in sept is on those cool mornings or day that it is misting rain and cool. I have killed deer in sept and don't realy like doing it. It's just to darned hot and the heat isn't good on the meat.

started bow hunting september 5 years ago. this is my favorite time of the year to hunt, deer are on summer feeding patterns and sighting are double what they are any other month during the season. just make sure to make clean kills and get them home ASAP to clean. don't haul it around to let every tom, dick, and harry look at it. get that meat home and in the freezer.

Turn around!
Well i'm a die hard bow hunter and have been for years. I hate the heat but im in the stand from seasons starts to seasons ends no matter how hot or cold it may get every weekend u can count on me being in the tree. I have had success all through out the season see bucks all year long.

I'm in the same boat buddy. I hate the heat but my but will be sitting in a tree at least on every saturday during the season no matter the weather. Way to many days between seasons for me to waste time not hunting when the season is open. As far as the meat spoiling, I hunt public land and and try to get away from other hunters and stil have never had one go bad on me. If it's real warm the meat gets quartered up, hauled out and put on ice in a cooler. I freaking love to bow hunt and if I gotta sweat to do it, so be it.

Well ever since I was a kid hunting squirrels in mid August it was time to be in the woods starting then and thats where you will find me whenever possible. Bow hunt the mornings and bust doves in the afternoon, how could it get any better.

What's crazy is that I am in South Florida right now and deer season starts here in two weeks! Guess we shouldn't complain about it starting too early in Kentucky or being too hot in September. Couldn't imagine hunting deer in August in S. Florida in this heat. I have seen a couple decent bucks (for Florida bucks), wild hogs, and osceola turkeys right off the side of the road which has been pretty cool.

I think the South Carolina Deer season also starts in August. SC has a 5 Buck limit also in certain areas. As of now, there are at least 15 different states that open Bow Season in September. Indiana is proposing opening Bow Season on September 15th.

Yes it is hot and taking care of the meat is a priorty, but I have not yet missed a bow season openor and don't plan on it either. I love to hunt and will go every chance I get.

too hot. snakes are still out....no earlier than mid october for me...plus i don't find velvet bucks that attractive

I was bit by a copperhead the week before muzzleloading season several years ago. So snakes are still out then too.

I killed my biggest buck to date two years ago during the first weekend of season. It was on labor day. Still had velvet.

I love hunting is September. Everyone in our camp seems to have god success because the deer are predictable. Last year a guy in our camp killed a 140 inch deer in full velvet on opening morning thanks to trail cams.
