Savage 30-06 with a leupold 4-12 throwing out the Winchester deer season xp in 150 gr. Do a mean number on deer
I shoot a Browning BAR Safari 7mm but my son shoots a Marlin 30/30 with leverevolution ammo. Great setup and very, very accurate up to about 175yds. We don't shoot much over that but probably could get a clean 200 yard shot off without much drop. Never missed with that 30/30 and they drop within 20 yards on all shots. Great setup I would recommend to anyone.Within 100-150 yds a deer, dead is dead. 30-30 or 3 dozen other calibers, deer wont know the difference. I haven't hunted with a 30-30 since the late 80s, gun safe full of more versatile calibers. I think the best thing about the 30-30 is probably the easiest carry rifle out there.
Just bought 3 boxes of 308's at $12.87 each. Enough for a few yearsI saw them at that price last week at Wally by work. Should have bought them then.
Pleased with the 150 grain Core Lokt out of the Weatherby. First & second shots were a bit low but with a few clicks it got better. I figured the 150's would shoot a touch higher than the 180's it is sighted in for. Third and forth shots were just a touch right so I gave it a couple clicks left and called it good. All shots offhand at around 75 yards with just the sling wrapped tight. May pick up a couple more boxes tomorrow if they have any left. Glad to hear they had some to fit your 308 Bubbles. Like I said only thing here was 270 or 30-06 at that price.
