Something bit me in the temple area Wednesday afternoon. I never felt a thing, never itched. My daughter came home around 8:00 or so, and asked, "What happened?" I looked in the mirror, and was surprised. Took a dose of benadryl and went to bed. The first picture was around 8:15 Wednesday night, the second at 4:00 AM Thursday morning. I was a bit concerned, and had decided I would cut my hunt short and go to the doctor. By 9:00 or so, most of the swelling was gone, so I kept hunting. Other than bees and wasps, I've never reacted to an insect bite before. Any idea what could have done this? My daughter said I looked like Quasimodo.

I have had a spider bite look like that, darn near swelled my eye shut for several days. At least that what the doc called it. I don't remember getting bit tho.

Looks like you got bit by the ugly bug.

    Haha.

It could be a number of things.

    Did the Benadryl help?

My wife got bit by a brown reclusa in about the same place.
That's what the doc said it was I don't know! It didn't cause the problems we had heard about I just itched for a couple weeks. She took steroids presidon i think was the name and it cleared up.

No, it's a bite of some kind. Place now like a mosquito bite.

Could have been a spider of some sort. If red streaks start to appear, get to a doctor. I got bit by a brown recluse a couple of years ago. Never felt a thing but 24 hours later I had red streaks going from my forearm where the bite was up to my armpit. The doctor put me on a heavy duty antibiotic so I never had the dead tissue spot that you see a lot.

  12. Got nailed by a Black Widow on one of the warm days this winter in my pole barn.

    Swelling looked just like yours.

    Went away on it's own.

    Hope your doing better.

Even so, a single picture would have been plenty. More than enough, even.
