Thank you. I really love going to St. Andrews. I got to experience a wonderful thing. I walked/fished my way to the end of the jetty rocks one morning and at the very end a Manta Ray went airborne for a few seconds right in front of me about 30 yards away. I couldn't believe what I had seen and even questioned it. But, that was exactly what it was. Later, I saw where Manta's actually "fly" quite often sometimes. One of those "once in a lifetime" thingies.

Lol, I like playing with manta ray, but they will nail you too, if not careful. I am thinking, afterthought, that you may have simply been nailed by a jellyfish tentacle. They absolutely adore me. I am a magnet to them, unfortunately. Some are more painful than others.

"Nematocysts". Someone gave you the scientific pieces part name lol. Based upon your description, I am thinking that you stepped upon part of a Man O War, you poor man (extremely painful).

Anyway here, my cell died, as I was trying to post this recent photo for you. Wouldn't want one of the giants landing upon me lol! Look for groups in the spring time.

Man O War. If it ain’t Portuguese it doesn’t count. My brother got hit by one of them in Florida. We peed on him, got some windex later. He had a pretty bad reaction. Looked like he’d been whipped with a hot welding rod down his back and legs.

The beach is pretty much my own personal hell on earth. If I ever get bit by something there I got chased out of God’s country.

I would not have hesitated taking countless photos of that incident. We scout for tourists doing stupid things and are consistently rewarded. It's how we entertain ourselves. Urine does not do any good. Take this (plus this, tweezers, Benedryl, and Ibuprofen) to the beach next time for such:

What frightens me about those is that you might not ever see them, before they nail you. One of my brothers became extremely ill from one and was tended to for it. Turned white and nauseated, dizzying faint, he got nailed but good by one (same one which had to smoke the laced cigar lol). I watched him suffer again, he was younger then.

The sea nettles like me. People don't think we have any of the box jellys, but they have also been found. I don't like any of the jellys, even those without toxin. You may be walking down the beach and find a deep pit dug, with tons of them dumped into it. Don't fall into one.

Captain probably has many stories...

He was a child. It was the early 90’s, no google back then, how did you survive?

Im sure we were visiting somebody dying down there. None of us would go to FL on purpose, that was even before I met your “persona” on here.

Silly boy, I was teaching computers to faculty and students within a college computer lab, when computers connected to the world wide web were first introduced into the colleges, long before Evil Google was hatched.
