GSP good looking point but where's his tail. And that doesn't look like any part of Morgan Co. I've ever hunted. We've got a fun trial Sat. and Sun. If you can make it, call 606-789-7125.

Thanks Birdman.
I've noticed you long tail, shaggy coat fellars always ask about the tail. That's the problem, the business end is at the other end of the dog!!!
That picture was taken in Morgan. I had the camera turned on it's side

Good Luck this weekend, wish I could make it up, but I have to work.

Hi Grouseguy,
What counties do you hunt? I hunt some private land in Lewis and can be found at Clay WMA, when the woodcock are in. Also, went to Fleming Wma on Dec. 2nd to check out the woodcock hunting possibilities (our first time there). We took 1 grouse and 3 woodcock. I will be back there! Do you do any bird hunting out-of-state?
Take care.

Hey uplandchessies;

Haven't heard from you in a while. I hunt mostly Carter(home county), Lewis, Robertson & Mason. I also hunt down the Big Sandy with Birdman and some of the other KY Grouse Hunters.

I get out of state as much as possible. Last year I hunted two weeks in Wisconsin, and 4 days each in Michigan and Kansas. This year I've got reservations in Wisconsin for the two weeks beginning 10/5/02 and I'll see what else materializes.

Also, if you have any hunting buddies that hunt pointing dogs, I have a quality litter of english setters that were three weeks old yesterday, and I have two males that have not been reserved yet.

Grouseguy,
All of my buddies hunt with me because "I" have the dogs. Sorry! However, I will ask around and see what I can do.
I too, hunt out-of-state as much as possible. This year we are going to MI, twice and we are looking into a SD, ND trip for prairie chicken, sharptail, pheasant and waterfowl or TX, for blue and bobwhite quail, chachalaca and waterfowl. If we end-up going to the Dakota's, then I may go to NM for their 3 quail species.
If you are ever interested in joining -- let me know.

Thanks for the invite uplandchessies! Right now I'm focusing on puppy development over the spring and summer and we'll see what the fall brings. Hopefully, there will be a good nesting/hatching season in the upper Midwest (and KY). I'm kind of a grouse fanatic, so if there are reasonable grouse numbers in the Great Lake states and I have any extra vacation, that's probably where I'll be. If not...who knows!

Birdman, I thought the mushroom hunt was last weekend? Are you having another? I would like to help if the timing is right. I have people coming both days this coming weekend to look at/pick out pups and then turkey season is just around the corner. Keep in touch and try to come up if you get the chance.

Grouseguy we've postpond the morel hunt do to weather I'll let you know if we reschedule. Tom is coming in from Minn. to turkey hunt this year. I would like for you to meat him. We're do a show (trukey) on the 15th&16th. Maybe we can get together that week if your available.
How many pups do you have left?

Sounds good on the morels. I should be available on and off during that week (I hate it when work gets in the way of hunting season), and will be free on the weekend. If you need some turkey footage, I can probably hook you up...I have access to some excellent farms in Webbville.

2 male pups left that are five weeks old today. I have people coming this weekend to pick out pups that they have already reserved. They should be ready to take home by next weekend (13th or 14th).
