I know there’s more people than you think that don’t field dress a deer. When I went to Ohio to deer hunt a few times, those guys I was with up there never gutted a deer. I watched them skin a handful and the only meat you don’t get from a field dressed deer is the inner lions. They said they preferred cleaning them that way to prevent gut piles on their hunting farms. To each their own I guess but back to the point, I wouldn’t let this deer not being field dressed be a concern. Seen it a many of times.
I've done a few myself and still do if I think I've hit heart. You should have no problem getting the inner loins, especially if you hang the deer up and let gravity pull all the bowels down towards the diaphragm. Its actually easier once you do it a time or two.

Thats a hell of a deer though!!

Congrats to the young man! Hell of a buck.

I hunt right on the NC/VA line and can say this deer body wise looks massive compared to anything that we see in the central part of the state. I don’t do FB, does it mention what county it was killed in?

I agree. I hunt VA and we just don't see deer that big very often.

You ever hunt AP Hill? For 25 yrs I traveled from Maryland to Richmond (and all over the state), don't miss I-95 one bit, or the tractor trailers on I-81.
Yes. A great place to hunt. Some really nice ones were taken there so far this season. I'm actually heading up there to hunt this Friday and Saturday. Concur on the I-95 and 81. Never a pleasant drive.

It's legit. It's the next county over from where I live. I believe 26" wide. In this area, hunting with dogs is pretty common, along with shotguns and buckshot. Buckshot would probably explain the broken legs and jaws.
