Okay I couldn't remember. I hunt with a Remington 1187 20 gauge with a Primos Jelly Head choke tube and Federal Heavyweight #7's. It's a hammer and I've killed gobblers out to 45 yards with no problems.

I saw some Federal five shot boxes at Walmart for about $12-$15. Triplex. 1/3 TSS 1/3 lead and 1/3 lead Flightstopper spreader shot.

They had them in plastic cases.

If anyone patterns this I'd like to see the results. I'd expect a lot of flyers from Lead bouncing of TSS.

Where are you guys buying TSS? I want to get some, but I don't want to buy it online and have to pay shipping.

Are they worth 30.00 a box vs say 15.00 a box .I feel like it's a hype. Turkeys were killed by the 100's and the 1000's. I just can't see paying that type of money. Not saying there are not worth it, to each there own .

I haven't bought the hype yet. I can't justify spending that much money for a shell. My shots are 40 yards or less, if they come down in price then, I will consider using them.

Just my .02 but no, I’ve killed several hundred birds using lead #5’s. IMO it’s all in how you play the game. If you’re into sniping birds at long distances they probably are worth it. If your game is to call a bird in close let’s say inside 40 yards, complete waste of money.

The only exception is with 20 gauges, I think in the lighter guns they are certainly effective and worth the cost

Looks like Turkey hunting is getting like Duck hunting. Instead of trying to work a bird in for the right shot. It is who can kill with the longest shot. I will stick with my federal lead number 6s. They haven't let me down in all these years. But like Ducks I like Turkey into my shot zone. 40 yards or less. But have killed further but drather not.
