This 15 pt Buck was taken in laurel Co the first day of Archery Season by Joe Wilson. This DEER was beginning to shed it’s Velvet & Joe wanted it just like it was. I immediately went to work treating the Velvet and here it is mounted. Awesome. You can even see some of his summer coat faintly showing.

So what is the best way to care for velvet once you put one on the ground?

Once he’s on the ground & you’ve determined it’s full VELVET YOU SH NOT DRAG THE DEER BY THE ANTLERS! Next step is to try an get it processed ASAP & put the head in the FREEZER.

    Awesome mount, looks great.

The deer don't know that the mountain lion is about to get his azz.

Nice job! Velvet looks very natural. What part of KY was the mountain lion killed?
