I have a 2013 camo 2 seater Teryx I just bought October of last year and I need a good winch. Been looking at the Viper 4500 with synthetic rope but not sure which way to go. The Warn is out of my price range. What is everyone using?

I bought an el cheapo from Rural King. It has a wireless remote, and steel cable. If I recall, I paid around $90.00 for it. It works as advertised, so I have no complaints. I have found over the years it's much easier to take a little extra time, and not get myself into situations where I might need a winch.

I just bought a 2014 Polaris Ranger. Had a factory winch installed by the dealer. It is made by Warn (4500 lb.) for Polaris to fit the Ranger. They are more expensive. I have heard, but have no experience to back it up that SuperWinch is good.

The Kawasaki dealer said that he would put me a Warn 4500lb on for $900.00 That includes labor which is 150 bucks. Looking for something a little cheaper though. I really want a winch where in hunt in Carter and Lewis co where it is steep. I have killed many deer and they run in the hollows and think that the winch will help me get them out. I usually hunt by myself. Plus I think that the teryx would be hard to get stuck. I have tried and it comes out everytime. Just like a winch for piece of mind. But dont want to go broke either.

Viper is good, Superwinch is good. The Harbor Freight Badlands 3000 is really good but the smaller and larger sizes are junk.

I bought a Warn RT 2500 lb from Amazon for $225 and installed it myself on a grizzly. It was simple.

Do you need a 4500 lb winch? Wouldn't a 2000 do it on a Teryx?

It may me put of a mud hole but not sure up a hill or out of a steep holler. I called warn and they recommended at least a 3500. Viper said 4000. Never called super winch.

2000 will not work on a utv. Get a 4000 or bigger. I got a warn and used it when needed and it does the job.

I guess it depends on your use. Guys on ATV/UTV forums that see a lot of water are not very high on the Warn brand.

I'll tell ya, I wish I had one this past Sunday. I got stuck bigger than anything on a brake going up a 2 year old logging road. Took me 2 hours to get off of it. Got stuck before that too. Probably spent at least 4 hours throughout the day trying to get out of these places. Got permission to hunt another property and had to go in there. I'll have to get a winch now for sure. Probably just go with a Viper. They get great reviews, and there a little less. Found a 5000 lb for 460 with the remote and free shipping. Good warranty too.

I got a viper 4000 synthetic rope on my rzr and love it. Viper is a great product. The synthetic rope is far none the best way to go. It floats, no burs to stick ur hand, and the flexibility of it nice.
