I wish I could take credit for it but I can’t. Lol. My buddy had us set up on a farm but the elk were kinda hit or miss. We didn’t hunt Saturday, opening day, due to the weather. We made the trip up on Sunday. Since the elk were spotty he decided to take us to another place. We spotted the elk right before dark and eased in above them. My boy made his shot at last light. We were pretty sure the shot was good due to how the bull humped up. After the shot the bull turned and went off over the mountain of course. We gave him some time but it wasn’t needed, he didn’t go 40 yards after the shot.
We’ve been very fortunate on drawing tags. I got drawn for a cow in 2016 in unit 3 after putting in for 13 years, Archery tag last year in unit 4 and my son drew this tag this year. My other son and daughter have got their fingers crossed. Lol.
