At least we didn't loose to duke or the cards. Always next year for number 9

Here's why UK lost....

Indiana wanted it more, you could tell that from the get-go.

The offensive fouls hurt the Cats, but didn't cause them to lose.

As was the case in all their losses this year, the bigs were not to be seen. Marcus Lee is a joke, Poythress a prima donna, and Skal just didn't help this team any.

I thought Murray hurt us today with his shot selection.

Ulis didn't necessarily have a good game either.

Last but not least, and it pains me to say this, but Crean outcoached Calipari. Cal should have made some adjustments when he saw how bad the bigs were playing, and saw that Murray was not on his game. He didn't.....just like he didn't against Wisconsin last year.

Oh well, we'll reload and shoot for the moon again next year. But, dammit, I hate losing to Indiana.

For a while I'd never believe it but when UK is limited in a couple of positions, Cal's coaching ability gets exposed. Crean exposed Cal's "meh" level of coaching ability today. IU executed some beautiful plays both designed, created or when opportunity presented itself. Cal's "ability" was to say "have at it" superstars, make me proud and look good for recruiting you". Ulis drive or Murray drive or shoot were the only two offensive "plays" I saw with any regularity.

Cal can hide behind teams like last year's and in 2012 with various superstars ability to cover Cal's butt with brilliant performances. Happened "most" times this year also except when the other team had an answer and then some for the Cats.

Cats, outplayed and outcoached. Congrats IU. We'll get em next year Cats!

UK lost this game with 4-7 minutes left when they had multiple empty/reckless possessions. Cal should have called a TO when IU went up 5, by all means by 7, to calm them down. That was the ball game IMHO. Cal got out coached in the last 10 minutes.

IU has a good team. They are talented and experienced. Their defense forced us to take bad shots all day.

I thought our guys played pretty well....IU hit critical shots and we didn't.

It just wasn't our day today.

The simple fact is we have half a team. We have great guards and no inside game at all. You can't coach your way out of that. You can't hide that. It gets exposed. Alex is a senior and was like a lost puppy. He has no passion. Im so glad he's on to other things. Maybe we will get some guys that want to play next year.

I'd like to see Lee go, he lost the ball posted up against a 5'9 guard last night....

ROF!! Yeah, if that guy had been 5'-10", Lee would have had to eat that ball.

As a complete non-basket-baller who only gets interested during March Madness and then only if Kentucky is playing, my impression was that they were out there running around in circles last night and the only direction they had was when Ulis would come up with some kind of play; like everybody else was waiting for him to do something.

Just seemed to me somebody (Coach Cal) should have stepped up and said HEY, let's do it this way or let's try some of these guys sitting on the bench if you, you and you can't get it done.

But then, I don't know anything about the finer points of B'Ball.

Duke will be preseason No. 1 by a wide margin next year.
Do you really think that duke will be preseason number 1 with UK bringing in what my be the best recruiting class ever? We have seen over and over that UK is preseason number 1 almost every year based on the incoming class. With this being what many are calling Cals best class, why would next season be any different?

Amazing. If Tubby had recruits this good and got beat in the Round of 32 everyone would have called for his head. Like they did when he lost to Crean and Marquette in the Elite 8. 32 wins and everyone wanted him fired immediately. Cal has definitely found his home. Sure Indy has a good team (not a great team) but you can't convince me that UK couldn't have beaten them easily with their personnel.

Duke is bringing in the top 2 recruits next season and 3 in the top 10. Coupled with the return of several key players, Duke is expected to start the season at no. 1.

UK has a great incoming class, but they're expected to lose most of their scoring. As far as "best class ever", it's hard to imagine that under any circumstances.

I disagree. UK showed they could simply not compete with that level of team defense. Indiana doesn't have a great team, and benefitted from the most unbalanced Big 10 schedule I've ever seen, but they still compete in the Big 10. Easily the best all-around conference this year, and one that emphasizes team defense more than scoring.

As Wisconsin showed last year, when the talent disparity isn't as great UK is used to, the better team will win, which is what happened last night.
