I watched 48 yesterday pretty close to Knott. It was hard to tell old hens from poults. They all had feathers ruffled up pretty good and are close to same body size.

I saw 40 in one group in Clark County on Friday night last week. Like GSP I could not tell how many old Hens vs Poults that there were.

I didnt see a single poult here last year. During the drought in august i had a group of 10-15 hens coming to a lake next to my house every day, there werent any poults. Id say there will be a good crop of 2 y.o gobblers this year based on all the jakes i saw last year. Next spring should be pretty tough with the lack of poults last year.

8 years ago or so there were turkeys galore in the woods behind my house, it's nothing but acres and acres of hardwoods, but for years now haven't seen turkeys in there more than a couple times.. i can't figure it out, you can still go out the main ridge to where a cattle farm is and they are there, but don't seem to need to go over in the big woods.. beats me

We had a good hatch here in south central Ky. We also had alot of jakes last year. It should be a good couple of years in the future.

Here's a pic of a few jakes last week
