What's your turkey gun of choice for the season
Been using my Mossberg 835 for 12 years now. No reason to change.
I got tired of getting punished by my 835. I switched to 935. Shoots great. But heavier.
I'll be using a 835 and longbeard xr shells.
Benelli Super Black Eagle II with a Gobbling Thunder .655 is my best one!
NWTF 25th Anniversary Remington 11-87SPST. Indian Creek .660 and Longbeard XR 3" 1 7/8 oz #6.
My new Remington SP10 bought it off a guy that had it 25 years and never had it out of the box. So I bought it put it together BRAND NEW GUN. So will give it a try. Then go back to my Maxus 12
Remington Model 870 Super Magnum 12 ga. It's lightweight, short barreled, and deadly. Can't wait to put it to use this weekend in AL, in the 3 weeks in OK, and then in 4 wks here in KY. LOVE this time of year!
Winchester SXP longbeard edition. With longbeard choke and you guessed it longbeard xr 3 1/2 #5.
Benelli M2 20 gauge with Trulock Federal HW Choke. No need for a 12 gauge hunting turkeys. I love this combo. Lighter and patterns better at 30 and 40 yds than a 12 ga.
Remington 1187 turkey special saw it at NWTF Remington display my uncle and I ordered one a piece aint seen another like them. Hornady .660 choke. Activ 3 inch shell, plastic hull.Stopped making them several years ago. Baddest turkey load ever period. Gun will pattern 60 yards with at least 10 pellets in brain and spine.
Remington 1187 20 gauge with Indian Creek .555 choke, shooting Hevi Shot magna blends.
It's Light weight to pack, very little kick and will still kill birds out to 40 yards
I still use a old woodland camoed mossberg 500 with the factory turkey choke. I've upgraded it some while I've owned. I had a saddle and a Simmons scope on it for many years. It was just too much weight to haul around these east ky hills. Now it has a fiber optic front sight and a sims vibration recoil pad. Wouldn't trade it for nothing.
Stevens 311 double barrel. The full choke barrels the kill shot, the modified is the back up.
