[IMG]I was walking out of the holler this morning from turkey hunting and happened up on this huge tree!Wish I had a tape measure with me to see what the circumference was.My Grandmother had a huge beech tree in her yard years ago but it was not this big best I remember!

Yep.Take a pretty good team of mules to drag that one out of the holler. What kind of tree was it?

Scaley bark hickory maybe? They can get pretty huge.

Large dia. trees are few and far between anymore. There was an old Oak in Bedford that three grown men couldn't put there arms around, the wind storm took it down. :(

I dig those old big trees.I look for them all the time driving around or in the grand parents had a huge beach tree in a field when I was a kid my grandpa said it had to be over a 100 years old.

That is a whopper for sure. One of the biggest trees I have ever seen in my life is on Henderson Sloughs WMA. I think the largest recorded cottonwood tree in the state is on West Ky WMA.

There's what looks to be a little virgin timber here and there on LBL. Beautiful stuff to walk around in.

Does not look like it to me. Looks like it could possibly be a burr oak. That's what this one is.
