I'm new to trapping just wondering what you would use to catch a coon in a box trap
almost anything, i have used marshmellows, honey, tuna, salmons, canned oysters (the best.) sweet baits = less possums and skunks.
I've tried sardeans, marshmellows, bannanas, and still ain't caught anything
try peanut butter
Marshmallows topped with strawberry jelly or maple syrup....... canned cat food will work too but you will catch grinners as well...
I've tried marshmellows mixed with maple surip and peanut butter all mixed in one contaner still didnt catch nothing
sounds like you need to find a good den area or even a culvert crossing under a highway.... city coons are pretty easy to catch too.... local mills \ hog farms \ dairy farms
Yea my buddy caught one on marshmellows and let me have but i turned it out and my dog treed it and i went to the tree to fast need to let her bark longer on the tree.
I put sardeans in mine, sit it out one evening, went back the next day, and had about a 17 lb bore coon in it.
yea what flavor.
Honey buns work good
ok ill try tht next time set it out tonight and put anchoves in it.
Honey bun works every time. If no luck, use a piece of loaf bread with peanut butter on it & sprinkle c'mere deer on it.
ok ill try tht ive got bannahs in it rite now
Season is now over, so no more trapping. Just look at the trapping forum, bunch of sad guys over there.
