Trail Camera Cellular

Are there any cellular trail cameras that work well with limited service? At my stand I have one bar of AT&T LTE service. I recently bought a Spypoint camera with the Nationwide service and it would not work at all or register any service.

Thanks

A cell cam that uses ATT should work with 1 bar. Don't know which ones use Att. Maybe you can choose which network when you get the Sim card. Verizon is king in Kentucky with Att 2nd. At least as far as more rural areas. Sprint/mobile works good in the cities and along interstates.
That being said, they all go to crap in some of our deeper hollars.

I have Tactacams and Browning Strikeforce cams. The Brownings get signal and take pics when the Tactacam show no bars at all. The Brownings get signal and take pics when my AT&T phone shows no service. I'm just telling it like it is as I'm not partial to any brand just want one that works. The Tactacams work in a few select places on my farm but the Brownings work in nearly all places. All of my cams are AT&T.

I can’t speak for any other brand but Tactacam. My buddy hunted a place where he never got more than 1 bar. He had tried Spypoint and just didn’t get pics. He called Tactacam before purchasing and told him the situation. They said, “Ours will work or we’ll give you a full refund, used or not.” He’s used them for years now, no issues. I have two Tactacams. One has worked fine for 3 years. One I bought last year simply didn’t work right even before I got to the woods and I sent it back.

The newest moultrie edge has both Verizon and att capabilities. Once it’s turned on it checks both coverages and picks the strongest signal.
I was able to run a few in some bottoms that were previously not doable.
And it doesn’t use sd cards, built in memory.
For a 100 dollar camera, I’m thrilled with it.

Try anything other than Spypoint and you will have better luck.

Spartan GoCam. The Spypoint modems are too weak. My Spartans typically have full service where my phone shows none.

How much does it cost for the cellular service with Moultrie? They just sent me an offer for 30% off via their website puchase (camera issue out of warranty).

I run two Tactacams for $216 service (I think). It’s whatever the unlimited photo plan they have. Thanks, Snareman2

Have several tactacams on Verizon and they work great but my cell coverage is great where we’re at, better than home actually. YMMV, they tend to struggle if you place them in a creek bottom or low spot. Ridge tops tend to fair better.

Don’t quote me on it but it’s between 10-20 a month depending on the plan.
10 for 1000 images a month and 18 or 20 for unlimited images.
That’s per camera.

I've used the Tactacam in the lowest elevation creek bottoms on my farms and they worked great with one bar. Verizon is king where I'm at, but all depends on what works best in your area.
