This years buck pics. How to mount?

Dropped him off at the taxi today and I had decided on a full sneak 4600 Mckenzie mount. Turned right and one ear cupped and one ear turned back. I am still looking at other mounts online and I see tons of other nice mounts. Anyone care to suggest a good mount for my deer? Maybe a certain pose that would maybe make him look bigger than a full sneak or more agressive. He was trailing a doe when I got him so the full sneak was my first thought. Just looking for some input. :)

McKenzie 64D is an aggressive pose.

The only way to make a deer look bigger is to wait till a bigger deer walks by before you pull the trigger. Lots of folks think a taxidermist can take a 18" cape and stretch it over a 22" form so it will look as big as their buddy's deer. It ain't happening if the taxi cares how the hair patterns line up and look.

He actually told me a story about a guy bringing in a doe and asking if he could mount it on a 20+ inch neck mold and add some antlers to it. lol. This one is a trophy to me, otherwise I wouldnt have shot it, but it does seem like some angles make it look bigger.

It happens all the time and to many, the taxi is a bad guy if their deer doesn't look as big as they remembered it. I measure all my deer for forms off the neck meat after the cape is removed, Many hunters take a tape measurement off a slack-necked deer, over the hair, a foot below the ear butts, and call it good. That's what they tell their friends it measured. If I ordered forms off that kind of measurement, most 20 inch deer would measure 23-25 inches.

Anybody who takes a deer that they feel is worthy has a trophy. I would never tell anybody that their deer should have been passed up. Many get mounts of deer that others ask WHY? I don't see it that way but I have to be realistic about what they have and what options they have on mounting it. I have not had a client tell me that their deer was bigger than the mount they picked up, at least not in my presence. Many have told me that their mount looks BIGGER than they remember the actual deer being.

I've have several bucks mounted the last one I had mounted was in full sneak. The taxidermist did a great job mounting it but in a full sneak it seats off the wall quiet aways. I'll have to really think twice about a full sneak mount again. Congrats on your buck.

im not a huge fan of full sneak mounts, but thats just my opinion. i tend to like the more cliche semi sneak, semi upright, or upright. my first mount that i got, i did a semi sneak left turn. this years buck i did a semi upright with a right turn. reason i went semi up right over matching it up with my other buck at a semi sneak, was cause i rattled him in so he came over the hill all kinds of mad looking for the bucks in his territory!

i just dropped my buck of at the taxadermist yesterday had a hard time picking between a full sneak and a semi sneak but i went with the semi sneak with the head turned to the left
