Thickest WMA?

Hey fellas, was looking at a few wma’s and was wondering if y’all could tell me a good thick WMA to try. I’ve been looking all over LBL maps and topos and just don’t see much thick stuff or transitions. I see a lot of ridges, saddles and coves, but I need thickets. I’m also looking at Green River. Just trying to have a quality hunt during bow season. Thanks for any info y’all can give.

John C. Williams is THICK, but I haven't seen many mature bucks out there and relatively speaking it isn't that big of a property. I don't know how thick of a property you want to hunt, but if you're coming from GA then there are closer WMA's that will be thick and just as productive. Check out Rolling Fork if you're looking in that general area. Part of it was logged about 10 years ago and might have something like what you're looking for.

If you are talking thick in bow season, look no further than Veteran's Memorial in Scott Co... I am not talking thickets, I am talking 8 foot high underbrush that would make a rabbit reconsider...it is not that deer will not use such locations, it is that you could hunt from the ground with a short spear and do as good...

I like hunting on the edge of a serious thicket, but several WMAs in central KY need some work with underbrush...some controlled burns are seriously overdue...

I almost got lost at John C Williams it was so thick in parts I couldn’t imagine one 8ft tall that’s crazy I wonder why they don’t take better care for the hunters maybe their is a funding issue we need more hunters so we can make more money for the commonwealth fish and wildlife most there money comes from hunting sales

Yep. Happens every year close to season.
I've helped a few out because I've actually heavily scouted most Wmas from Yellowbank to LBL. I have entire folders of scout trips but I think I'm done trying. These guys don't appreciate because they didn't put in the sweat equity to find the good places. Oh well.

Easy fellas, I am an out of towner, so what all could I add to this forum as I’ve never hunted your state? I didn’t ask for the typical “where’s the best place to kill a big buck” post. I’m actually going up this weekend by myself to scout LBL. I didn’t ask y’all for scouting help…that’s my job. I’m just wanting to go hunt out of state with a buddy of mine who is down in the dumps and just trying to take his mind off of stuff. Thanks to the folks that answered the question and good luck to everyone. I’ll post my experience in here, good or bad.
