I'm looking at this more from a parent standpoint I guess. Had it been my 17 yo down there I would probably beat his a$$. Yes, I can see his heart was in the right place but a kid shouldn't be putting his life on the line in a crazy situation like that. I would love to see more adults armed and ready to defend their towns but not a kid in my opinion.

Yeah, I would be upset if my 17 year old kid was down in that crap...putting himself into harms way. But not for defending himself. I agree...more adults need to step up to the plate.

Hate playing the devils advocate here because i oppose the new normal of rioting and whathaveyou as much as you all do.

But, if you are 17 its illegal to have a rifle and carrying it through several states.. all that..
If he was 18 it would be fine. But the law is the law. We are a nation of laws.
“Shall not be infringed” an unconstitutional law means jack shit in this circumstance. I carried concealed on UK Campus everyday and would rather be expelled than killed.

Thats the thing though. The only reason there is no chance of him getting off scott free with self defense. Because what he did by being underage and taking his dads gun to a riot to brandish was inherently illegal.

He will at minimum get some charges and some penalty is what im saying. Solely because of that technicality.
So they are charging him as an adult and a juvenile.? From what I read earlier I’d say he walks out unscathed.

The autopsy report of first victim (from link on here) would seem to validate a struggle for the rifle. Clearly the kid is being chased, anyone can only retreat so far. Guy caught up and tried to take gun and got shot four times in process.

I watched a lawyer`s take on what happened. He said from all the videos he had seen that it was self defense but they have a law that says if you are breaking the law then you can`t use self defense. He said prosecutors would probably try to use that against him. He said even being out after curfew could be used against him. Hopefully there will be enough decent people on the jury, if it goes that far, to find him not guilty. You can go to war and kill people at 18 so common sense should prevail in the age factor. It's not like he was targeting random people, only those that were possibly putting his life in danger. If a person is stupid enough to attack an armed man, woman or child and cause them to reasonably believe their life is in danger, they're stupid enough to be shot, that's the only thing that should be considered in the case.

Closer to home all the Breona Taylor bullshit that’s ruined a large section of Louisville...read this and see if it fits the mayor and the media
narrative.

I promise it doesn’t. She knew EXATCTLY what game she was playing. it makes me furious to think of all the cops, regular citizens and even the protestors put in grave danger by a lack of leadership in the mayor, who you know saw this report a long time ago.
