Thermal Scopes

Was wondering if anyone had any pros/cons on thermal scopes...Looking into getting one but there are lots of options and didnt know which way to go...Can you get something fairly decent for under 2500 ? I know lots of them are way north of that..Just cant justify spending a whole lot more then that on one...Thanks for any advice
