I had a budgie or whatever they were. The small ones. No idea why i got it and maybe there were 2 it was a long time ago. But it depressed me to see something meant to fly just sitting in a cage. So one day i took it out and opened the cage door. Thing flew into the trees and then after a bit flew out towards the road where it looked like a car immediately hit it. Either way i never saw it again but at least he was free for a bit.
my cousin had a parakeet, named pete. one time it flew an landed above my shirt pocket. it regurgitated on my shirt. i think Pete, thought i needed food, before i left the nest. i do have that effect on animals, they think i need help. lol
We just got back into town from hard hunting in rugged south western Wyoming. We pounded ground for a week. Hiking, climbing and glassing and could not locate a single elk. This was in the area 40 miles north of Kemmerer WY where we have been very successful in the past. Over 30 miles on foot at elevations from 7200' to 9500'. The elk had been around. 280yds across to that hill but equally deep to the canyon bottom. Great Wyoming sunset after another tough day. We saw this Golden Eagle up close. This young bull moose, at 12yds, was simply very curious as to what the hell we were. My son got a selfie at 25yds.
Nice shot. Extreme WKY received gusts in the mid to upper 20s yesterday, but one at my place was much stronger, knocking over a double ladder resting on the gutter. That was rather surprising.
This was what White Mountain looked like this morning. It is cooling down from our afternoon high of 10°. It will be -5° by tomorrow morning. I-80 is closed east to Cheyenne & west to Evanston. 191 going north & 430 to the south are closed. Our Canadian built four season Bigfoot camper is cozy even at these temperatures. Things should be thawed by Wednesday when we figure on leaving for parts east.
