I feel we need a TSS thread. People can vent their fears, complaints and praise of the merits of all that is TSS.

With some TSS vs Lead included.

Here is some information regarding Pellet count. And density.

I patterned my old Ithaca 12ga today with 2 3/4” #9 TSS Apex 2oz load. Fixed full with mid bead. That thing is hauling the mail at 45yds. At 20 it was a ragged hole. I may get it out this year.

I been looking for a energy chart all day for a comparison. Sweet!!
The penetration is the real tell tale. The smaller tss pellets have less surface resistance and penetrate really well.

Some of my guns are too old to even use heavy field loads in so I might take bismuth, lead or tss depending on gun, weather and my mood.

Anyone done much testing with the .410? Dad has a pacemaker, so he has to shoot offside shoulder with less recoil.
Yes. My daughter uses a fixed full Win 37 410. With 3” Apex Ninja 9’s or 3” Federal TSS 9’s it is throwing an identical pattern.

I have my pattern data written down but off the top of my head it seems like it was a solid 35yd gun. With 5” of “spread” wiggle room starting at roughly 12yds. I shot that thing a lot when I was testing it. Didn’t want it too tight up close or not having at least 35yds of reliable shot count.
