Good attitude. Sucks to lose one but even worse to hold out for one that is already dead.
Forget the wind just hunt lol anymore I don't pay attention to the direction unless it really bad
That’s always hard to take. I know we all think a certain deer is “our” deer but it’s God’s deer and it’s a first come first come serve. Love that a kid got him but I feel your pain.
Great deer. Least you know what happened. Good luck until duck season.
Well that sucks for you. Had it happened to me last year. congrats to kid.
At least it wasn't laying on the side of the road.
Congrats to the kid on an awesome buck. Similar thing seems to happen to me every year. Just go hunt, and hopefully you'll get a good one too. Good luck!
That one will sting for quite a while but you will eventually get over it! Depending on location I will sometimes forget the wind if it’s going to be clear and sunny hoping that the thermals will take care of my scent.
That's a bad feeling!! Hunted a buck for 3 years only to have a out of state guy lease some ground next to us...walked in opening morning of gun in jean's and a sweatshirt, picked a tree and sat down, killed it first 20 mins of his hunt.
Can’t help but laugh at that.
Dang that's a bummer. I'
These are usually the people who kill big deer. Or 1st timers.
Then they turn professional and start telling everyone else how to do it.
