anyone own one? I’ve been debating on purchasing a new auto shotgun. Wanting something of quality at a good price. Benelli is too High for me but some people tell me a stoeger is owned by benelli and thier shotguns are basically a benelli that just don’t look as nice but half the price. Anyone know or have much experience with them? Thanks
I don't know about the semi autos but I've had a 20 gauge side by side for several years. Nice fit and finish, light, swings like a feather on birds. It came from Turkey...
I've had a 2000 semi for about 15 years. It shoulders great for me, and has never had a single issue cycling, even with my neglectful cleaning. The price was just an extra bonus. For turkey, I settled on a TruGlo tube and either Win or Federal #5's. I've hammered a couple further than I care to state on this forum! Wonderful firearm, IMO.
I have a Stoeger P-350 pump with pistol grip type stock for turkeys. Some times you find a gun you decide you will never part with... this is one of those guns...
Bought a Stoeger 12ga semi auto last year. Love it. I've been duck hunting for years with a Remington 870 12ga pump and wanted a semi auto with a longer barrel. My youngest son has used a stoeger for years, he likes them also. great guns in my opinion.
I believe Beretta Holdings owns Beretta Benelli Franchi A. Uberti Stoeger Sako Tikka Victrix Armaments Chapuis Armes Steiner Burris I have a Stoeger M3500 shotgun currently and, in the past, have owned a Benelli SBE and still own a Benelli M4. The Stoeger is basically a Benelli at one-third the cost. The inertia system is basically the same. The recoil spring in the Stoeger is in the forearm whereas the Benelli SBE has the spring in the stock. I use it for turkey hunting and coyote hunting mainly. Never had a problem with it. I think it will last longer than I will.
One of my close friends has one and I don't think he has any complaints. I would buy a Franchi before I bought a Stoger though. Also, if you wait until everything clams down, you might be surprised what you can get at Benelli for if you look around.
I’ve read a lot of reviews on them, mostly all good. I stopped and talked to a gun dealer today. Said he used to be a benelli dealer and also sold stoegers at the time. He said the stoeger worked fine with game loads, but if you shot light loads they were bad to jam up. First person that said much bad about them I’d heard
I had a Franchi 20 ga. auto. Best shotgun I have ever owned. I wish I had kept it. It was light, 5 pounds. It was rare it I missed with it. Shot many quail.
The franchis look good but are a little higher than I’m trying to spend. Was looking for something between 5-600. Now I’ve been looking hard at the weatherby sa-08 in 12 gauge. I know some will say save up more money for a better auto but really 600 is about my max on what I’m willing to pay. If I can’t get a good auto shotgun for that then I’m just not interested in getting one.
