So last year I took this climbing stand and set it on a tree I intended to hunt, but then a different property got interesting and I ended up hunting it instead and left the climber on the other property from about September to December. So when I go to retrieve it this is what I found. The stand was new and in perfect condition, not a scratch on it when I left it there. Now scratched ALL over. And the scratches go deep. If your not careful get splinters. It’s like someone ran a grinder over it. The stand is aluminum with almost like a spray in truckbed like coating on it.
I’ve never had anything ate up like this in the woods, I’m guessing squirrels? But really don’t know. Anyone seen anything like this? 91F97384-D4DF-4129-9E14-C077C92007E4.jpeg 239FD31D-1115-42DF-9CCF-B2471D599679.jpeg 465894EC-C9B1-4615-B443-889EB4C28AA9.jpeg

That’s exactly what it is. I’ve had them chew on metal lawn chairs and even the knobs and wheels off the bbq grill...

Sharpening the teeth just like they so on sheds. Or going after paint chips trying to catch a high

That’s what I had figured. Guess I will take a grinder and lightly knock off the sharp edges then coat of paint and let it air out for a while before taking it to the woods

I used an old license plate on my gravity squirrel feeder, so less feed would come out at once. They widened the hole with ease in a few days, so they could reach to the back to grab seed.

Dam,must have been a bunch of bucktooth squirrels around there.
Well least it will be a lot lighter and easier to pack in.....

Squirrels teeth don’t stop growing, they try to eat stuff that keeps teeth ground down.My son knew someone that had a pet squirrel ,always fed it some food ,teeth got so he couldn’t eat, by then it was to late I guess, finally died ,vet said they have to have grinding type foods.

Little bastards chewed through every top rail tie on my chain link fence one year. And chewed a hole in the lead pipe boot on my roof.
