Smoked rabbit once, not good. If I had put it in a crockpot or instapot after that it might have made some good enchiladas or something shredded. Was very dry

Fried in a skillet with a good lid to seal in the steam and heat is hard to beat.

Rabbit is wayyyy too lean to grill or smoke in my opinion. Smoking and then throwing in a crockpot and adding some type of sauce would be fine though. I crockpot mine, shred them, and make cakes or patties like you would with salmon and then fry them in a little butter. Garlic dill aioli for dipping and damn! Or fry them of course. Squirrel is great in a big pot of beans!!!

Mulberries still green a goard here. No squacks messing with them yet but the trees are loaded.

Never cooked one on smoker but have grilled them on charcoal grill. Very tasty. Might have been young ones because they were tender as heck.

My papaw whipped me once for not eating his squirrel brains and scrambled eggs. I still didn’t eat them. He could’ve beat me unconscious before I’d eat them. That man knew how to whip ya too. Lol
