Now that the season is winding down, what projects will yall be working on in the next few months?
Myself, I'm gonna establish 2 new clover kill plots, run some mock scrape projects, major trail cleanup and heavy supplemental feeding.

Work on trimming up a few Atv trails for better access. Trim a few shooting lanes on a couple stands. Reseed a couple of plots and get back into a few more that I’ve not done in a few years and replant those.

Cut and clean out a good trail to one area that I started hunting this year for a quieter walk in and able to get my wheeler close if I needed to. Got a ladder stand I’ve had for a while I plan on putting up. Lots of trimming and maybe see if I can get a mini plot to take seed in a couple areas.

Make sure yall do soil tests even if they are small areas. Will save you lots of money and frustration in the long run

Protein and mineral based. Im more focused on keeping does around and producing healthier fawns.

You realize how much protein pellet feed you'll need to supply to a free range herd to have any type of impact? Ranch in Texas we hunt on buys it by the tractor trailer load and its not cheap.

Well I dont have those kinds of plans or funds. But I'm gonna try to keep 2 supplemental bait stations in rotation.

The first thing we’re planning on doing is a lot of screening. In some spots that means we’ll be edge feathering. In other spots, we will be transplanting some glorious Eastern Red Cedars.

I’ve been doing some hinge cutting and still feeding. I don’t know how to upload pictures but I have some good before and after pictures of some honeysuckle the deer demolished in 2 nights. I’ve also feathered around my clover, brassica food plots, and my small apple orchard. Have several trees and shrubs ordered,it will be a busy spring and probably summer watering everything. Last summer was perfect with all the rainfall for trees.

Thats awesome. I wish I owned my farm, cause I'd love to plant trees and other viable shrubs that the deer could access. I'm lucky enough to lease from a great farmer who lets me do as I please but owning is my ultimate goal.

Are you transplanting the cedars for bedding or sanctuary?

Wish I owned the land we hunt on, I’d be cutting out a few hundred cedars. I’m hoping to at least be able to cut out some dead stuff and trim up some others.
