You have my sympathy, sir. The placement of heater cores in trucks is a cruel joke played on the American people by the auto makers - one final "screw you" directed at the truck owner.

yes indeed it is,i have no dash in my 97 f150,i just can't pay someone 500 to replace a heater core,bad thing is i just did it 18 months ago with an awesome built autozone one.wish i could send them a bill..

I wish I could take some pencil-necked auto designer out back for about 15 minutes and I'd put his heater core in a really bad, hard-to-get-place. When I got through with him, he'd design his next auto with the heater core mounted in a more convenient place.

I've changed a couple and there is just no sense in hiding a device that is eventually going to leak, in a place like that.
