My son took his first deer ever in November. He hunted hard during the December muzzle loader season, even on those very cold days, I was very proud of him. He ended up missing three deer with his muzzle loader, one of them being a 140-145" ten point at 70 yards. Needless to say his spirts were pretty low. Sunday afternoon we had 7 does show up and he smashed one with his Ruger 44 mag rifle. He was really wanting that first buck but was very happy he had ended his missing streak. The smile says it all.

Congrats to you and your son. There's nothing like hunting with your child. My son's first deer (a doe) was more exciting to me than any deer on my wall.

Nothing better than the smiles of someone that has had success hunting! It's too bad we all miss.....sooner or later. Congrats to you both!
