I used to have to fight 'unemployment' of guys we fired at times. I got tired of the "I was fired because of racism" nonsense.
One time, when I was in Chicago having to defend a termination, that's what one guy claimed. I responded to the ADJ (Administrative Law Judge who was black) that the guy was black when we hired him. And followed with, "If we wanted to discriminate against him because of his race, why would we even put him on payroll in the first place and have to go through this process?" We won that one.
