Everyone need not forget that a ducks diet consists of way more than just grain, whether its from agriculture or natural moist soil plant seed. Invertebrates and other small plants make a good portion of their diet.

So, @deerhunter24 did you get out there after honkers today? 60 degrees and sunny, not an iceberg in sight.

They are only mad because they are not killing as many mallards. Talked to several in LA who say the same thing. They can go out and kill divers, teal, shovelers, etc. all day but they are mad about the mallards. And they all think that growing corn and flooding it is no different than pouring corn on the ground and flooding it. What it boils down to is they are so spoiled with incredible duck hunting and are used to killing full straps by 9am. A couple years of having to work a little harder and hunt longer and the sky is falling.

In all seriousness... How is building a levee around a cornfield and then flooding the standing corn any different than dumping corn in and around a pond? Other than when you dump the corn in the water it starts to rot...so I'm told.

How is growing corn in a leveed field then artificially flooding the unharvested & standing crop a legit farming practice?
