Read a study on spike a few years ago. They took something like five spikes and five, four or 6 point bucks and did a study on them over 5years. Over that time peirod the spikes grew to be just as big or bigger over that time period.

So the potential is there for him to turn into a nice buck in the future, ya just gotta give him a chance to grow.

Shooting spikes is no way to improve genetics. Had a buddy get trail pics of a spike pie bald that were half the size of this bucks. The next year he was about a 100" or more 8 pointer and my buddy took it at 2 1/2. Shooting spikes is a myth.
