required in some optional in others and recommended in a few.

So do you think you should be required by law to wear it..

Whoa whoa, i cast my vote as no and i need to change that. The thread title is what i was responding to and the poll question was different.

Hunter orange during firearms season should be mandatory. Its a pain in the butt but i think it helps much more than it hurts.

Thats not my question I don't care if it helps or hurts, the question is should you be compelled to wear something that violates your personal freedom such as a seat belt ( I always do and did before it was the law) wear a motorcycle helmet ( which I always do) it's no different then being required to wear orange.

I will see if I can change it so you can change your vote.

Done you can change it now.

I have lived and hunted in states where orange was not required and don't recall any hunting accidents because of not wearing it.

I have also lived in several states where it was required and each year several were shot in hunting accidents.

I would always wear it on public but would prefer not to on my own land..

I would add far more hunters around the country fall out of trees and die then are shot.

I dont want to shoot at a deer and have a camouflaged hunter as a backstop. Yes, should be required.

I have always thought it was interesting that people bow hunt with full camo and face paint then have a full suit of orange on in gun season i personally dont think deer are color blind but im not a biologist or a scientist just someone that has hunted over 50 years kinda like seat belt law got to wear one in a car but i have heard school buses dont have them i got a seat belt ticket and wouldnt pay it when asked i told them you can ride a motorcycle without a helment but you want to give me a ticket for no seatbelt in a car i think it should be a choice on the orange i would always wear it walking but would take it off when i got to the tree just my opinion

Hot pink is more visible at long distances than orange. Can’t wait to they change it to pink and buy me a set of pink coveralls

I think several states now have a pink option.

My opinion and it's worth what it cost you , it should be a choice not a requirement..

How any free thinking conservative or libertarian can allow an unconstitutional law to be thrust upon them is beyond me , just because someone says it keeps us safer doesn't mean it really does, if the government says go this way you should go the other..

Do I always wear it? Most of the time yes.
If I am in area or state that doesn't I don't.

I had an uncle shot at in MI a few years back , thank God they missed , he was wearing a full set of orange coveralls, as with anything in life there are no guarantees.

Its your life should be able to live it as you choose as long as your not hurting any one.

I think it's overreaching of gov't to require hunter orange on private land. On Public land I can see it. There are at most 6 guys on my property at any one time. Everyone know where everyone is and can communicate when getting ready to make a move. Requiring orange by law I don't agree with. We do it but only cause it's the law.
