I had a good sit opening morning. Hunted an old faithful spot in Adair county to get a meat deer on the ground. I was using a custom TC Contender running an 8" .44 Magnum barrel I made. I just got the barrel finished the week before the opener and a load dialed in right before the opener.

Sitting in the blind that morning, had three come within 25 yards. The barrel performed as promised and delivered the goods! Now, I can sit back and look for horns! Being a gunsmith and harvesting an animal with your own handywork brings a new level of satisfaction to the game!

Congrats. What ended up being the load you went with? Will it change as you shoot more rounds?

Load was a book load, 23.5gr of H -110 behind a Hornady 240gr XTP. Doubt she'll change any, if at all.
