I had success hunting incomplete industrial parks. The owners wanted someone to run off trespassers, i wanted to kill deer. Win win. Even had 2 with places with ducks and geese, coming in regularly. Inevitably i would lose the spot to a giant warehouse but it was fun and productive. Got to know boone county sheriffs deputies pretty well too. If I didn’t buy my own place id still be at it.

Trespassers were pretty easy to run off too, never had any return. One guy was catching small game with a redtail hawk. (I didn’t run him off cause I was in awe and watched from a distance)

If you were in the Richwood area there have been a few legit giants around to get after.

I was desperate enough last year that I hunted a relatives front yard just off a subdivision. Saw several deer and a decent buck, but I let them walk.

I am not against hunting in the city limits, of course, but my question is - is it legal? I called 3 different city buildings Edgewood, Erlanger, and Crestview Hills) and all told me it was illegal. Now I will say that I talked with more than 1 person in one city and received 2 different answers. The problem I have is this - I don't care if he had permission or not. If it's not legal, then it's not legal. Maybe an in-state hunter would have liked a chance at that deer but didn't ask permission because he/she knew it wasn't legal? I'm shocked that you guys aren't going ape-shit over this since he's an OOS hunter (most do every other opportunity.) I just think it's kind of a douchebag move on his part, but if it turns out it's legal, then it's legal.

I very seriously doubt it'd be broadcast were it illegal. Don't you?
I imagine the boy has pissed off enough locals and been the cause of enough witch hunts to cross his I's and dot his T's

What exactly is douchebag about it? To my knowledge there is absolutely no reason it would be illegal. Much like with Walmart “no weapons allowed” they will tell you it’s illegal. Signs do not carry force of law in Kentucky for such things. The most they can do is ask you to leave. Furthermore I am fairly certain municipalities cannot deem a hunting activity illegal and override the KDFWR. Once again the most that can be said is it’s trespassing. But if he has permission that’s out the window. Dude does more scouting than probably 95% of the hunters in the state and doesn’t even live here. Dude came in hunted legally and on private land at that which he obtained permission. Bout as upstanding of a OOS hunter as I can find an example of.

Savoring the smoke
Potroast and I were cooking (and doing a little hunting) a few weeks ago down at a Realtree duck camp in Louisiana. The Seek 1 and some of the Duck Commander guys were there. Lee from Seek 1 and Si Robertson were sitting at the kitchen table one morning talking about urban deer hunting. Lee was lamenting that it was getting really hard to get permission around Atlanta anymore because so many people were doing it.
I stopped what I was doing and turned around to look at him. “Why do you think that is?” I said.
He laughed and said some loudmouth kept killing big bucks and posting videos on YouTube about it.
Good guys. This was their first serious waterfowl hunt and they are hooked.
