When possible, I like to sit stands and blinds near cedars. My favorite stand has a big cedar to my right. I’ve trimmed it some but it still blocked a lot of my shot/view in that direction but I swear it seems nothing coming from that direction has ever winded me. Maybe a coincidence but I like the cedar.

I run this for 3 to 4 days out has 2 tanks a timer to set what time you want "that hotty doe " to spray out . I make a mock scrape and hang this thing way higher than it's supposed to be IMG_20201025_100301.jpg IMG_20201025_100235.jpg

Used to use scents, tried many different kinds and all I had to show for it was stinky hands.

I’ve had little bucks come in but saw way too many does get a whiff and blow or take off. Much rather have the real thing around then some rancid bottle of pee that’s sat on the shelf at Walmart for years

As Scent free as possible is the goal for me! I don’t want the deer to feel anything is in the area if possible.

Buddy was telling me how the ol tinks 69 was garbage last year. Next day i put some on a gauze 4x4. taped to my boot and walked 50 yards. Hung it on a tree branch in the middle of the trail. One hour later had a great buck walking down the trail sniffing my drag. Stopped to sniff the gauze and I had an easy harvest. Works like a champ on private land where every hunter for miles isn’t doing stupid stuff like squirting it on the ground and leaving it.

I had a bottle of that brake in my vest pocket once. I was the first gun shot heard that morning. Like you said not sure what was in it but bucks went crazy for it.

How can you tell if doe pee has gone bad?
I sure can't tell by sniffing. There's a bag of half used stuff in my basement. Not sure if I should throw it out or mix it together to smell like a doe orgy.

We have a lot of ground cedar on one portion of our farm. My dad taught me at a young age that it serves as a good cover scent, and mosquito repellent too. Just grab a chunk, mash it up and rub the juices on.

I haven’t used any scents this year beyond spraying myself to be scent free. I’ve said before, I’m not sure how well the doe and buck urines, etc...work but I do think they help keep the deer off from my scent some so it’s still a win if that is the case.

It turns to ammonia after a few months. I try to use mine within a week or 2 of opening and keep it in a refrigerator as well.

I read all urine turns to ammonia shortly after exposure that’s why peeing in scrapes works.

Take a doe or two close to or during the chase phase and draw her urine out with a insulin needle

Thank you. Do you cut the cedar oil with something and put it in a spray bottle?
