I have used the scent a-way products for years and they relly seem to help cut down on scent. I do only hunt the wind period and that is the only thing that is 100% ( unless the wind changes on you ) so I guess nothing is 100% I have never used the carbon clothes. I have had a shirt or hat stink from sweat and hit it with the SAW spray and it will kill the stink at least to my nose so I know it works somewhat. As bowhunters we need every single bit of help we can get. If it means an extra 5 yards closer you can get I'll take it because it could be all we need to make a sucessful shot.

I do agree with this. I've gotten gas on my hands before while pumping gas on the way to go hunting. I sprayed my hands with scent away and I could no longer smell gas on them. I'm sure the spray products cut down on odors that are on you or your clothing, they just can't eliminate the odors that your body is constantly producing.

The best thing I found is apple scents. Use the Apple scent body wash, shampoo, apple scent body spray, apple scent chap stick. Apple scent hand soap and apple scent lotion. Killed quit a few deer doing this

I think that I have tried most everything on the market, Scent-a-WAy has been good but not perfect, I have used just plain ole Arm & Hammer Baking soda and had similar results, SKULL BOUND has new products out that I think may become the best available commercially. I must agree with most everyone though that you have to watch the wind and my favorite hunting spot is one of hardest to reach due to natural wind pattern and the fact I only one way in. Deerhunter 24 I agree that on the apple scents but I also think the acorn scent is a great one too.

Not all deer are the same either. One farm I hunt is very remote and another is close to some houses. The remote farm you have to be on your toes as the deer spook extremely easily at the least bit of scent. The other farm, which I have a stand within 100 yards of a house, deer seem to tolerate a lot more. I actually dont care about the wind while hunting it. The deer there have walked all around and under me and very rarely get nervous at all. If they spot you, its over but scent doesnt seem to bother them at all.

IMO most scent clothing helps with scent containment not elimination. The thickness and layers contain your scent more than a single camo t-shirt and pants. I have notice during the colder days, when layered in clothing the deer very seldom bust me down wind. Add to that cold air has a tendency to be dryer/less moisture and thermals have a greater effect on those days contribute as well.

Here is a better question.

What is it about human scent that scares deer?

How can a deer tell that a coyote is dangerous and raccoon isn't?

Because we eat meat do we emit a different odor? What if we were vegetarian?

This. If your gear is all washed in scent-free detergent and you spray down, there shouldn't be anything on the outside for the deer to smell. However, if you're only wearing a cotton tee-shirt and sweating, that scent is getting out. If you're wearing a jacket over it that's not wicking the scent out, you're good.

Forget the scent blocker, just go buy some plastic and duct tape and cover yourself from head to toe. You're gonna look stupid, but you'll be scent free!

A deers sense of smell is roughly about 10,000 times better than a humans, comaparable to a bloodhounds they can distinguish smells the same way we can, if you walk in the house and there's a fresh apple pie baking you don't have to ask whats in the oven, and if you walk in and the trash is stinking you know exactly what it is right? Now imagine being able smell in high def! Lol Not being sarcastic but coyotes try eat deer and coons don't .

Indians use to purge and diet or ruffage prior to big hunts.

I've killed lots of deer down wind. If they are at 40 and ease through thinking I'm at 100 yards bc my scent has been reduced then I can shoot them.

Apple scent or acorn scent or earth scent makes you smell like an apple, acorn or earth scented human.

I do all I can to limit my scent on me and my gear. But I still think through my entrance and exit and hunt the wind.

I think its all a bunch of bs, my dad and brother both smoke cigarettes while hunting and always see and kill plenty of deer, I say play the wind, and hope your in the right place at the right time and save your money
