Folks, here's the deal. We can't personally vouch for every member on the forum. While we individually approve each new member, sometimes a bad one gets through. There are members here who signed up years ago and have never made a post that just start posting out of the blue.

We have had a member get scammed recently. Hopefully the charges can be disputed and the money returned to the card, but it serves as a reminder for anyone using the classifieds. If a member recently joined, only has a few posts, reaches out to you saying they have a product you are looking for via pm, doesn't want to meet somewhere for a face to face transaction, then look hard before sending money. If you are dealing with a member here that you don't personally know, reach out to see if anyone else knows and will vouch for them.

Carry on.

From what you are seeing, have accounts being hacked and taken over by scammers? (Someone takes over my account and rips people off using my good name) OR are scammers simply creating their own accounts and using them at their convenience?

If they are scamming, let’s just put their name out there and be done with it. I’ve reported 4 scammers thus far. I assume y’all did something about it.

Half the boats and cars on Facebook marketplace are scams. If you see a good looking Kabota tractor for $1200 please don’t be a total retard and send them money or emails. If it’s too good to be true then it is. On these type of scams you almost deserve to be suckered if you fall for it. The ones where it looks legit but they just don’t send the product, then protect yourself by the way you pay for it or better yet only meet in person. There’s a lot of pathetic losers that are total garbage that have no morals.

This is typical scam on the net for ammo, powder & primers. Bunches of these out there. No limit, normal prices, and no credit cards. Letting me order 100 lbs of powder.

I was the one who got scammed. It was by Rumor690. I had a WTB a single shot 20 Gauge for the Boy Scout troop I am a leader in. He replied and sent pictures. He asked for FFL info since he claimed he lived south of Paducah and I’m in Lexington. I told him he could legally mail it to me since it was instate but he wanted to go FFL. I paypalled him. Then nothing. After a week I contacted him and he said his wife was in ICU and he hadn’t had a chance to mail it. Then a few days later I saw where someone posted that he had replied to their ad with pictures from eBay. Second time in 20 years I’ve been scammed. Glad it wasn’t for more at least. I will now require pictures with a thumbs up or something else so I know it’s really in their possession before I send money.

Off the scam topic but pretty positive when shipping firearms, they have to be shipped to FFL. Muzzleloaders, that can't burn smokeless, can be shipped door to door.

In state can ship directly to you. Same as if you did a FTF.

  1. You can ship a firearm to another nonlicensed person in your state. While the post office will allow nonlicensees to mail long guns to other nonlicensees in the same state, it restricts its services for handguns and pistols to FFL holders. Nonlicensees who want to ship a handgun are limited to contract carriers, which require you ship the gun to or through an FFL holder.
