It's that time again fellas, anybody been yet? River levels are stable and not chocolate milk for the time being. Gotta choose between deer and fishing but plan on making a trip this week before the inevitable yearly river blowout shuts it down.

Burkesville
I have been catching a few. Couple of small ones but mostly 18-22 inches. Some in TN at the mouth of the Obey mixed with walleye and last night near Burkesville.

I've fished the Cumberland further down in Tenn. for sauger, never on the Ky side. Are the numbers good enough to drag a boat down? Torn between there and the Ohio next week.

Probably not that many! I just started fishing for them last year so I am still learning and figuring them out. I don't travel to fish much since I live on the Cumberland, so I just make do with what the river gives me. Mostly Rainbow, Smallmouth, Browns, Striper,Walleye with seasonal Sauger and Whitebass. I have been fishing more at the mouth of the Obey in Celina TN which is the beginning of Cordell Hull Lake. I guess the Sauger get thick up through there. I ll find out.

How can you not like to eat them? I make dried trout jerky when I get too many to handle.

My favorite fish to eat is crappie, trout, bass, bluegill and it just goes south from there. I’m not much on fishy fish. Ha.
Walleye, sauger, saugeye didn’t make your list? I like them even better than crappie trout and BG. Creek Redeye and smallmouth are good to.
