Disappointed in the hot sauce sardines.
I like the smoked ones I think they’re chicken of the sea. Good with homemade pickled jalapeño slices yummy. And crackers of course.
Spoiler alert bgkyarcher,
King Oscar 22 count minners are the bestest. You dont even need a zesta. Walmart brand came in a strong 2nd.
Try regular sardines with jalapeño slices, good!
I’ll have to try that after recipe. I’m pretty sure you were the one that recommended the Kroger mackerel. I had my lady make a special trip to rulers just for a can of that when we made patties the last time, she thought it had a stronger fishy flavor then she was used to. Now it’s kind of I put her off every time I want to make them so that might bring things back to life
Haha ain’t that the truth. I was buying every different can I could find. I think I found the king Oscar’s to be top notch along with the crazy Chinese Japanese whatever they are sweet soy sauce flavor I was finding in Lexington
I used the ingredients and amounts from this recipe but after making each cake I gave them a quick roll in a paper plate of additional panko crumbs and rested 10 minutes before frying. I keep a wedge of Parmesan in my fridge at all times and grate my cheese fresh, but I’m sure you could get by with the canned stuff. That cheese knocks the strong fish taste out.
Oh yeah I pulled a medium size sweet green onion out of my garden and finely chopped it and some of the blades in lieu of the scallion, probably more like a half cup that 2 tablespoons lmao but I love a lot of onion.
The wild planet or blue planet are good to.
I bet a couple tins of the Wild Planets mashed up and fried would make some killer cakes.
Try the mustard kind with a dash of hot sauce, salt & pepper on a saltine cracker
Not a mustard fan. I tried them. Meh.
If you're a tightwad, go to Walmart and buy a can of great value sardines and add a splash of Frank's as you eat em. If you don't care to turn loose of some coin, buy some King Oscars and add a splash of Frank's as you eat em.
I'm going to watch for the King Oscars at Kroger. I do not go to Walmart unless I have to, which is very rare.
The King Oscars are as enjoyable as sardines get.
It was actually on Barneys cheap eating thread. Lot of sardines got ate in that couple weeks. I agree the great value and wild planet are the best with some hot sauce in a cracker
