    You can generally ID them by all the plastic bands hanging off their legs

    It may have been the same birds but I was seeing immature birds a few years back. Pics are on my old computer. They have red/green bands plus antennas for the trackers.

    Savoring the smoke
    Stopped by Wheeler NWR on our way back from Florida the other day. Holding 13-15k sandhills right now. You can get pretty close to the bulk of them and the sound is deafening. Was cool to see. Also holding 60k ducks, 7 whooping cranes and 2 tundra swans the day we were there

    Had Sandhill the other nite! Smoked it! Yummy yummy! It didn't last long!

    Had several flocks totalling a couple hundred birds land within a mile of the house the other night. Tried to run them down and find the spot but no luck. May have been on the other side of the river.
