Me and my group all got 3 tags each except the guy who forgot to put in for it. Hoping for better weather this year they didnt show up till the last weekend last year but decoying them was a blast.

I always get tags "just in case" but I've never seen them on the ground in our part of the state.

Decoying them has to be a good time.

I've got tags. I see them almost every year but yet to get one in range. Maybe all the stars will align this season.

  7. I wonder if 3 is the go to now instead of the normal 2. I also got 3 but have never put in before.

Pretty good haul to Barren County. I see thousands of them around the areas we rabbit hunt. I've never hunted them.

Yeah that area gets most of the ones that pass through but I havent came down to get permission from anyone. Need to make a trip down and knock on some doors. We get groups around me but I've never been able to get permission where they were hitting.

I got two tags. I haven't hunted them before, but after seeing a bunch of them recently while grouse hunting in the UP , I couldn't wait to see the quota draw. I guess I will be making some trips down to Barren. Anybody who wants to team up, PM me.

Got drawn for 2 this year, 3 last year. My understanding is everyone that applies gets at least 2. Then they give an extra tag up to a predetermined number based on a percentage of the total population. Have pass shot and decoyed them. They are really tough birds to bring down. Every year they are getting tougher to hunt around Barren. So many people shooting way too high at them have educated them. They used to fly pretty low but they've learned. I recommend shooting something heavier than lead. You can kill them with steel but you better be decoying them or else you're wasting your shells.

Got drawn for 3 tags. Had 50 on one of my spots 2 days before the season laat year. Have never had an oppurtunity at one, but I apply every year just in case one comes winging over low enough to take a pop shot at. Just not that many of them in my area of Central KY.
